Since 1976, she was a member of the Argentine Association of Actors and in 2003 she received the prestigious Podestá Award for Honorable Career, awarded by the National Senate, in recognition of her contribution to the art.

Recognized for her versatility, Catalano played various iconic roles that left an indelible mark on popular culture. From her role as Emilia in "Esperando la carroza" (1985) to her participation in "La historia oficial", a film that won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film, she demonstrated her talent and ability to transcend generations.

The actress began her artistic training with Hedy Crilla and made her debut in theater under the direction of Julio Ordano and Agustín Alezzo. Her foray into film began with "No toquen a la nena" (1976), later participating in important productions such as "Camila" (1984), "Tiempo de revancha" (1981), and "Yo, la peor de todas" (1990). Internationally, she shone in "Evita" (1996), directed by Alan Parker.
